[VIDEO] Although it's International Star Wars Day as I upload this, I've always been a Lord of the Rings nerd at my core. Howard Shore wrote one of the most monumental scores in film history as he blended elements of Romantic, Medieval, and even more modern techniques to develop his leitmotif for each element of the trilogy. I particularly gravitate to his themes of the fellowship and Lothlorien/Rivendell, so this track is a tribute to those elements. My main goal for this project was to emphasize extreme dynamic and textural contrast within a somewhat limited orchestration. There are no woodwinds on this track - I wanted to concentrate on the brass and choir. It's interesting because Shore mainly reserved these kinds of orchestrations for the forces of Sauron, Saruman, and the dwarfs, but again I tried to exercise a bit of contrast. Hope you enjoy!
